Domestic food waste chicken eggshells can produce naturally abundant protein-based eggshell membranes (ESMs), which is used as a less-explored source of sulphur to synthesize hexagonal CdS nanoparticles (NPs) under 365 nm (UVA) light irradiation. The perspective NPs synthesis in the way UVA irradiation soakage technique using ESM distinctive compare other traditional methods. Various physicochemical methods were employed validate formation NP assisted process. obtained exhibit an average particle size ~5 from transmission electron microscopy study. capability synthesized was further explored catalysis reaction for decomposition KMnO4, considered toxic Mn VII (violet) ion at room temperature. degradation results monitored by UV-Vis spectrophotometry analysis confirms excellent catalytic activity towards reduction MnO2 non-toxic IV (brownish yellow) aqueous solution (pH 7.0) temperature 50 min. KMnO4 follows pseudo-first-order having rate constant value 1.9 x 10 -2 min -1 . This study encourages potential use natural materials wastewater treatment.
